Exposed

I have a feeling I’m going to be writing on this topic a lot this year. Its funny how it just started as a catchy word which i couldnt shake from my thoughts…which turned into my year’s theme…which turned into a reoccurring theme among my recent conversations and actions…which has now turned into this years’ CAMP THEME for Westside student ministries!! I threw out that idea earlier today as we were brainstorming for camp theme ideas, and the concept totally stuck and we ran with it. Over the course of the next few months, we will be hashing out all of the different implications that one word can mean for our spiritual lives. Crazy. We’re spinning the theme towards a film and photography feel rather than a provocative and scandalous feel, due to the wide range of students which will be coming to camp (6th-12th). But i look forward to seeing how this one concept is unpacked by my student staff team and how i can apply those ideas to my own life. It will be interesting to see how this year’s theme (for my life and for camp) unravels in the course of 2008.

John 3:19-21 “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”
